The Brier welcomed a diverse audience, including Karrie Gottschild and her husband Wilson, who traveled from Chicago to St. John’s. Karrie, a volunteer at the Chicago Men’s International Bonspiel, was gifted tickets by visitors. These visitors, teammates of Scott Arnold, a former Curling Canada coach, added a personal touch to the event.
Jayden King, a rookie skip, made history as the first black skip at the Brier and potentially the 2024 Canadian Mixed Championship. At 23, King and his team, including Dylan Niepage, Owen Henry, and Victor Pietrangelo, sit at 3-2.
